Sound + lighting

Clear sound and lighting that sets the tone, for your weddings, shows and corporate events. I set up, run it and take care of the rest, so you can enjoy the evening.

Sound

A good sound system is mostly one that is well tuned for the place it is in. I do my best so that everyone hears well, from the front rows to the back of the room.

A system that fitsI pick the system for the room and the number of guests, not too much and not too little.
Mics for everyoneWireless mics for speeches, hosts and performances, and wired mics for instruments.
A technician on siteI set up, test and run the console for the whole event, so you have nothing to keep an eye on.
All kinds of venuesReception hall, church, farm, outdoor stage: I ask my questions ahead of time so I arrive prepared.

Lighting

Lighting serves the event, not the other way around. Simple and discreet when it should be, more festive when the evening calls for it.

Room ambienceSoft colours on the walls and decor, to set the mood without dazzling anyone.
Stage lightingPerformers are well lit, and a few effects support the music.
Dance floorLight effects measured to the evening: enough for the energy, not so much that it tires the eyes.
To suit your eventA small accent light or a fuller setup: we adjust together depending on the venue and the budget.

The equipment

I'm not trying to impress you with a long list: here is the gear I use most often. If your event needs something else, I'll tell you.

  • Midas M32R digital console and DL32 stage box
  • Martin Audio speakers and subwoofers
  • Shure mics, wired or wireless, and mic stands
  • LED bars and moving lights, with a DMX controller

How it works

  1. You get in touchThe 2-minute quote gives me the basics: event type, date, venue, number of guests.
  2. I get back to youI ask what's missing and prepare a detailed quote.
  3. PreparationTechnical plan, venue check (by photos or on site) and choice of gear.
  4. On the dayI arrive early, set up and test. During the event, I look after the sound and the lights.

Good to know

Can we book only sound, or only lighting?

Yes. Sound, lighting, music and video can be booked together or separately.

What do you need on site?

Mostly access for the setup and power outlets. I'll give you the exact list once I know the venue.

How far ahead should I write to you?

The sooner the better, so I can prepare well. But write to me even at the last minute: I'll tell you honestly what's doable.

Do you travel?

Yes. I'm based in Gore and I travel to the Laurentians, Montréal and elsewhere in Québec. Travel costs are listed in the quote.
